Inhabiting memory is…
A multi-format and multi-platform project (web + documentary) which tries to depict the opinions and testimonies of Basque citizens with regard to the violent past in the Basque Country through a participatory process involving the creation of audiovisual narratives and stories.
It aims to contribute to extending, consolidating…
and delving into the peace culture and into the bases of coexistence in the Basque Country, where the condemnation of violence, regardless of wherever it may come from, and the respect for human rights and for plurality are the main distinctive features of the new Basque identity.
Through a participatory methodology…
based on a reflection and dialogue process which is supplemented with audiovisual training workshops. At the end of the workshops, the participants go out to record citizens’ opinions and testimonies using a script or questionnaire previously agreed upon.
Interviews and documentary...
The contents are hosted in a web platform, generating a fragmented and diverse story, an audiovisual mosaic of the Basque citizens’ identities and opinions on violence, peace and coexistence.
During the entire process, the activities of the workshops have been recorded with three cameras so as to record the dialogue and the personal reflections and opinions of the participants in order to produce a documentary which lasts 64 minutes.
The documentary includes these recordings as well as the interviews of citizens conducted by the participants using mobile phones.
