ABOUT THE PROJECT
A social transformation project...

AIM
Generating critical awareness...

of the difficulties to access health and essential medicines, placing special emphasis on gender inequalities through the creation of messages by the affected women.

HOW IT WAS CARRIED OUT
We conducted training and audiovisual creation workshops...

with indigenous women in order for them to create narratives about their own lives and record other women’s experiences and initiatives in their environment where they learn to show their reality from their own point of view.

RESULTS
‘Health in my community’...

is a documentary featuring four indigenous women from the North Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua and showing the reality of health in their communities.

Recorded in Spanish and Miskito, an indigenous language of this Nicaraguan area, the images show us the communities of the municipalities of Rosita and Prinzapolka.
